NBR rubber

industry. Nitrile rubber (NBR) is commonly used for sealing where liquids, oils and fuels are present, for example in the automotive industry.

Our nitrile gaskets can be produced in any size, shape and more
thickness.

Properties – NBR rubber seals:

  • First, excellent resistance to petroleum oils, aromatic hydrocarbons, mineral oils and
  • many acids.
  • Second, good abrasion resistance.
  • plus a good compression kit.
  • additionally impermeable to many gases.
  • Available in BS2751 specification in various hardnesses.
  • Moderate mechanical properties.
 

Operating temperature range – seals made of NBR rubber:

Minimum(˚C) -20

Maximum (˚C) +80

 

Most importantly, NBR rubber gaskets are highly resistant to:

– water

– paraffin hydrocarbons

– engine oils

– alcohols

– dilute acids

– diluted alkali

Gaskets show medium resistance to, for example:

– mineral lubricants

– fuel

– transmission oils

 

Gaskets show poor resistance primarily to:

– first esters

– secondly, ketones

– brake fluids

– chlorinated hydrocarbons

– aromatic compounds
