Leather seals

Leather is a material produced by tanning animal hides and skins, primarily bovine. The tanning process transforms the protein of decaying skin into a durable and multi-faceted natural material. The reason why VERMET uses the best quality tanned leather for the production of seals is the nature of their use. When raw hides are tanned, they dry out, leaving a durable and flexible material that won’t rot when wet.

This is especially important in piping applications.

This increases the amount of natural oils left in the skin itself, which can be washed away by repeated exposure to water.
