Polyurethane rubber seals

Available in different colors and different hardnesses. Polyurethane has a low density, so it can compete with more expensive metal components. We supply gaskets for the construction industry, perfect for light weight applications. It also outperforms many other rigid plastics.

VERMET is able to offer polyurethane rubber seals in various colors. The adhesive backing can be applied to one or both sides of any polycarbonate piece we manufacture.

General characteristics

• High abrasion resistance– polyurethane/ PU is often used by VERMET customers for various structural parts as a substitute for metal
• Good chemical resistance– polyurethane/ PU has good resistance to most dilute acids, bases and oils.
• Good looks– polyurethane/PU leaves seals with a smooth, burr-free finish, which is important for visual applications.
• Low water absorption– polyurethane/PU has a low water absorption coefficient of 0.1%, so it will not be adversely affected by constant immersion in water.
• Excellent fatigue resistance– Good dimensional stability and good resistance to stress cracking.
